This book is amazing and the pop ups are numerous. It is very educational. I could see this being used by students doing projects on dinosaurs. A lot of information is packed into the book and each one of the pop ups. I facinated my grandkids from age 3 to 12. I would buy this book or others like it again.

This is a beautiful book. It is the second one I've purchased for a gift. I think if you are a person interested in dragon lore, then this is a great book to buy. The quality of the "pop ups" is amazing. The text interesting and informative.

I bought this for my 3 1/2 year old nephew for Christmas this year and he just loves it. He makes the dinosaur sounds and his mom says he just loves the way they pop off the page. Great educational tool that makes learning fun!

The pop-ups in this book are amazing and I had to buy it for my little boy who loves dinosaurs (but doesn't always love books). I was a little worried that the text would be above his head, but I let him just go through the pictures and we ignored it at first. He would ask the names but not much else. Now he's got those down, I've been reading the captions and I see that fear was unjustified. All the facts and things I thought would be "too boring" for him he asks me to reread over and over again.

My son got this for his 6th birthday. He's never been "into" dinosaurs but this is his new favorite book. He cannot get enough of the pop-ups & loves to learn about the different kinds of dinos. It's informative, beautiful & truly a work of art. It's one of the few books my kids are actually carefuly with (which says something in & of itself) because neither of them wants to be the one that messes up the pop-ups. I can't imagine the reaction from a child truly obsessed with dinosaurs (& I know several). What a fantastic book! I would recommend it to anyone.

The paper artwork that has gone into this book is truly amazing. "Gentle" fingers will open a surprising world of prehistoric dinosaurs. A treasure.

I can never say enough good things about Robert Sabuda Pop-Up Books and "Dinosaurs" is no different. I bought this book for two of my grandsons, ages 4 and 7 and each one enjoyed the creativity within its pages. Each page opens with fantastic creatures that pop-up and amazes you. There is good information on each page to help you learn and understand more about Dinosaurs.

My 2-year old daughter got this for Christmas from her Aunt with and she absolutely loves it. Every pop up gets a "wow" from her and us alike. The colors are spectacular and it's just amazing design and artistry to make the creatures come alive. It truly is an amazing book.

My 6 yr old son received this as a Christmas gift. We all fell in love with it - even my 2 yr old! Being an Encyclopedia it is filled with information and the pop out pictures are fantastic, plus they grab the children's interest easily. I was amazed at the detail and quality of the pop outs. There are tiny books within the pages that also have tiny detailed pop outs. These books are going to be kept for a long time!

For kids, this is a great way to get a different perspective on dinosaurs. Personally, i find the concept of dinosaurs and the early prehistoric mammals totally mind blowing. This book and the other in this series lets parents and kids share in the awesome spectacle of these creatures. i'm not sure if the science is totally correct since this field is in constant "evolution". (NPI). But it's good enough to be an eye opening experience for everyone.

Beautifully done. Fabulous pop-ups, many multi-layered. Very informative text. Not for the very young as it is complex and would be easily torn. Each turn of the page reveals amazing and colorful artistry!

In my quest to interest my daughter in all things science-related, my husband and I ordered a copy of this book and it was worth every last penny. It's fully of educational information about a variety of dinosaurs and though that aspect is currently at too high of a level for her to understand, it just shows that we will get a lot of mileage out of this book as she grows. The paper engineering is truly wonderful, with the most impressive imagine being the T-Rex head that leaps out of the book and looks like it's about the devour its reader. I would recommend this book as a wonderful resource to really spark a child's interest in the study of dinosaurs.

Bought this on a whim for my 4 1/2 year old son. He loves it! There are so many pop-up dinousaurs. The verbiage is a little too scientific for his age group, but he loves hearing it anyhow. We like to read the section on meat-eaters over and over again. It's fun to look at, and is very educational. I learned a thing or two about dinosaurs myself.

My six year old loves this book. She keeps it on a special shelf so it does not get "messed-up". The pop ups are really detailed and this book has alot of information. It is not all about the art work. This is a really cool book for dino lovers.

I ordered this book for my 4 1/2 year old daughter. She loves dinosaurs, and she loves books, so this was a great pick for her.
The pop-ups are breathtaking and the colors are vibrant, but if your child is rough on books this is not a book for them. My daughter knows I have to help her with this book because it seems that you could tear it easily if you didn't use caution. So we look at it together, and don't have any problems. The cover and spine seem well made.I bought it on sale for under 5 bucks so it was well worth the money. I don't know that I would have paid $30 (suggested retail) for it though. This book has more pop-ups than I have ever see in any book written/illustrated by other authors. The dinosaur pop-ups in this book are very intricate and beautifully done. The text is well done as well giving a information on each dinosaur. Robert Sabuda is definitely a master when it comes to the art of a pop-up book! I bought this book for a dinosaur-loving 6-year-old, and it was a big hit. He told his parents, "No one but me is allowed to touch this book. It is a very precious book."
I was a bit concerned that a child so young would tug at the pages and tear the delicate designs, but obviously he values it enough to take care of it. The pop-ups in this book are gorgeous to look at, just extraordinary. They are even more complex than the ones in the Wizard of Oz, and that is a stunning book as well. The book provides an excellent introduction to paleontology, some of the errors scientists have made about them, and of course lots and lots of full-color pop-ups. To be honest, I was surprised at the number (each page has between 3 and 5 pop-ups) and the complexity of the images - truly remarkable. I was also impressed at the variety of dinosaurs presented (from the Triassiac, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, both herbivores and carnivores). This is an awesome pop up book! I bought it for my 3 year old's B-Day. He loves looking at the book while I read to him about the prehistoric Mega-Beasts. I actually have learned a lot myself from this book. Although you would normally think this book is for boys. My six year old daughter also enjoys me reading these books to her. They are fun and very educational. I am a high school teacher and I really think this pop up book would be very valuable to any science classroom. I liked this book so much I also purchased the other two in the set!

This is the most well-organized, interesting, and beautiful pop-up book I've ever seen. My 4-year-old daughter loves this book. The first few times the t-rex head popped out at her, she gave a pretty hearty scream. Each page has at least 1 smaller "page" that contains pop-ups, too. After one read, my daughter was reciting facts about dinosaurs, so I know it held her attention.

My granddaughter has a special interest in scary beasts, particularly dinosaurs. After a visit to the local Children's Museum, where there is a room full of animated dinosaurs, I sent her this book. Her mother said she sat for a whole hour not saying a word, "reading" to herself and examining

I would rate this a 10 if I could. My son is four and LOVES dinosaurs. This book is great. The pop-ups are awesome, and so intricate. He has learned so many new dinosaur names. I may have to get a replacement one sooner or later because he reads it about five times a day and totes it around everywhere.

This is the sort of book that imprints on the memories of children: incredibly detailed pictures, endlessly interesting minutaie, etc. Heed the age recommendations, however, because you wouldn't want the pictures to be torn or abused in any way. I look forward to ordering more books from the same author for my nephews!
